For example, increasing the keyword frequency, adjusting the title, etc...

The URL will not change if you are editing an already existing piece of content. However, it is important that you change the POST DATE to the current or future date. Google crawls our directory daily or every other day. It first crawls the site map, but changing the POST DATE to the current or future date will allow the piece of content to appear on the directory homepage, which validates to Google that it is important and makes it more available for Google to crawl and index again.

Do expired “Free Trial” accounts have the voting feature on their pages and if so, why?

Free trial accounts do have the "Rate Us" feature on their pages based on the original design of the directory. Basicly what I have noticed when I view the reports is that the Yahoo reports has nothing showing up, and well I was just wondering if it was an issue of communication between Lead Maverick and Yahoo or if it's just because Yahoo is lame?

What if my content doesn’t stay on the directory homepage very long – will it still be indexed?

Yes, your content will still be indexed by search engines.

If you get bumped off of the directory homepage because there is a lot of content posted in one day by other users, there's no need to worry. There isn't necessarily a higher advantage to getting crawled from the directory homepage for freshly posted content, because your content posts are crawled in several other locations on our application (our sitemap, your individual content post, your company page that lists all of the content you have posted in that account, etc...)

How many times a day does Google crawl directory.leadmaverick.com?

Google crawls our directory homepage (directory.leadmaverick.com) several times a day.

I already have a website. Keep it that way.
If you don't want your children or your mother to read it, don't post it.
If we don't want our children or mothers to read it, we will delete it.
No suggestive pictures/language, or links to such.

These forums have been set up primarily as help and support for Lead Maverick. We will do all we can to help you here, and if we feel you need more help than we can give, we will direct you to support. Other kind of support is offered mostly by our users, but it is a side benefit, not our primary mandate.

Profanity is not allowed. Yes, there are certain words that are filtered. Please do NOT try to "test" the filters in any way...the moderators will see it.

This is not your personal advertisement board. Please be courteous and keep your advertising off of this forum. This includes advertising via Private Message. If we get complaints about you abusing the Private Message system, we will act on them.

Please take a moment and read the News and Announcements, which you can get to by clicking here: http://forum.leadmaverick.com/Forum9-1.aspx

Please stay on topic. The Watercooler is the place to go if you want to "chat”. All of the other Forums are for specific topics and are clearly marked.

Topics - If you need help on things Lead Maverick-related, please post in your Topic Title what the problem is (i.e.: Cannot Upload; How Do I (whatever)). In the topic please type as much information as you can. Also, if you post on someone else's Topic or thread, especially if their question has been answered, your question could be overlooked...this would not be deliberate. So, start your own Topic and you'll have a better chance of getting the help you need.

Double Posting - if you find that you need to add, change or delete something from a post you've made, please use the Edit button to make those changes. "Bumping" your topic is also not necessary.

Flaming is not allowed ... just because you're not sitting face to face doesn't mean that words can't hurt. This includes flaming using the Private Message feature.

Posting email/aim/im/outside links in posts or siggys: please do not post any of these. They will be edited/deleted.
If you need to contact another member, use the private message feature. It's much safer and it is private.

Passwords - it's a good idea to use a different password for any and all sites you visit - that includes not using the same password for your Lead Maverick account and your guest password (if you use one).

Please do not ask for (or offer) hacked/pirated software. Your post will be edited.

Please speak English, as at this time we do not have the capability to answer questions or moderate the forum properly if folks use other languages.

Chatspeak as well as "gangsta" type speak is not encouraged...why? Because many of us will have no idea what you're trying to ask for help with!

Role Playing - Please don't RP here (not in any form). There are many boards, sites and forums for that. Thanks.

No outside hyperlinks (clickable or active links to sites off Lead Maverick). If you wish to put a link to your Lead Maverick that you have questions about that is fine.
Caps lock in computer world is equivalent to screaming. Please don't 'yell' at us. We can hear you just as well if you type normally.

Reposting of posts that have been deleted by a moderator will result in a warning and possible ban.

Publicly posting personal information (names emails etc) of other users, and/or Private Messages from other members will result in a warning and possible ban.

If you receive a pm or email from a moderator regarding a post, signature, etc., please understand no one is trying to be "mean". It is sent to point out a guideline or other issue to keep this a safe, fun and helpful place. That is the main purpose for this Forum - to help you with your Lead Maverick account.

If a user is banned or suspended, it is for a reason. Spam on behalf of a banned or suspended user will not be tolerated. A ban or suspension does not occur on a whim, and every effort will have been made to resolve an issue before a ban is issued.

Our rules and guidelines are very clear; users should have no difficulty in following the spirit of them.

If you have questions or problems regarding the Forums, please post or pm the moderators. If you need help with Leadmaverick.com please post your question publicly. We will try our best to help you. If you are uncomfortable asking your question publicly, please use the 'contact us' link at the bottom of any forum page to send in an email.

Our Frequently Asked Questions: http://forum.leadmaverick.com/Forum5-1.aspx
Main site http://leadmaverick.com/

Please make sure your email address is kept up to date.
How quickly will you respond to a Support Request?

Usually in less than one business day. Every time you add content into Lead Maverick, we automatically create an RSS file. Visitors may elect to receive your RSS feed to keep up with your business in an automated manner. We are RSS junkies around here. First, click on the Cool Tools icon in Lead Maverick to see the link to your RSS file. Second, in the Cool Tools section, review the list of sites that accept RSS feeds. This list is our recommendation to maximize the exposure of your company's RSS.

How long will it take to see my content at the top of the search engines?

We can’t predict exactly how long it will take to see search results. It depends on a lot of factors, like the amount of content you enter, the quality of the content you enter in relation to your keywords, the amount of web pages indexed for your keywords, among other things. And it varies from search engine to search engine. But we have seen results within six to eight days, and sometimes even as quickly as 24 hours! So track your results and let us hear about your successes.

What are some other SEO options that I may consider in addition to Lead Maverick?

By all means, you should investigate other free listing sites that allow you to post your content on them. Telephone companies have directory sites, and many industry organizations have ways to place your information on them. But here is the rub…it takes a lot of time and your information may be lost in the clutter.

How does Lead Maverick compare to free listings on the web?

Overall, "free" advertising does not give you the depth or reporting that Lead Maverick does. There are numerous directory sites that allow you to post the basic details of your company online for free. But usually the amount of company information is limited, your company is buried deep in an alphabetical listing of your competitors, and the pages are cluttered with advertising (sometimes advertising for your competitors!).

With Lead Maverick, you can avoid the hassle of online advertising on free sites.

* No need to hunt and search for the "right site," saving time and money.
* You can enter more content that details your company than most every other site.
* We track your success so you know which content is getting the traffic to your site.
How does Lead Maverick compare to optimizing my website for search engines?

You may feel that it is better to optimize your current website for the search engines. Yes this will help, but...

* Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not an exact science and takes 30 to 90 days and more money to properly execute.
* When you post content on Lead Maverick, it is placed in context within our premier directory portal; giving you more exposure on the web than just your website alone.
* With Lead Maverick, you do not need to know HTML or other web techniques to place your content online. We automatically format it and optimize it.
* The more content you post in Lead Maverick, the more the Lead Maverick directory portal will point to your website, giving your website added outside links. The more outside links, the better your company website will be ranked with the search engines.
* It takes less work to use our tool than it does to SEO your site.

In fact, Lead Maverick is a perfect complement to your SEO work.

How does Lead Maverick compare to paid search engine ads?

You may have already experimented with paid search engine placement on Google or Yahoo/Overture. These tools are very helpful and can gain exposure for your website. But they do have limitations:

They are expensive, with the average cost per click at $0.54 each.

* You have a limited amount of text to describe your company.
* You have a limited exposure based on the keyword(s) people search on.
* On average, less than 1% of viewers click on search engine ads.

But Lead Maverick is better...

* You have no cost per click. Just one low monthly subscription.
* You have virtually no limits on the amount of text you may enter.
* Your content is posted in context.
* Your information is automatically optimized so that search engines can find you AND your content is more descriptive.
* You have a better opportunity for people to find you in the "organic" search result area.
How many people will see my content?

We have no idea.
